Why do you think Zaheer broke down? + Bhajji has been playing non-stop cricket forever

Frankly is Sachin can't commit to each and every test India is playing he needs to be dropped.Golandaazhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11593900110552569215noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-686425684324303857.post-16321288936836183122011-07-26T11:50:03.390-05:002011-07-26T11:50:03.390-05:00The hurt is only in context of how India are appro...The hurt is only in context of how India are approaching the game and the "business case" as you aptly summarized my angst. Otherwise, it was a routine thrashing.

I didn't think English bowlers truly troubled India's batsmen to a point of not being able to draw matches or make 400 runs. And I think adding IPL to the debate is a fun thing to do, but we cannot be sure that it screwed up the batting. India did win the first test in West Indies right after IPL.

I'm more optimistic than you. I don't like India's attitude to win only winnable games and give up on others.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-686425684324303857.post-12835711292722867382011-07-26T09:52:58.725-05:002011-07-26T09:52:58.725-05:00I have been saying England are a better side than ...I have been saying England are a better side than India since last winter. This English win only consolidates my view.

This one to me does hurt. A lot to a point where I have not read any reports on the game.

It hurts because England's commitment to cricket is total, India's commitment is there as long as there is a 'business case'.

As long as we keep winning we can justify our players playing the IPL when they should rest, pick and choose tests like Sachin does, allow players to rotate as if playing for India is some sort of entertainment ride.

But we won't win with just disregard for the game.

I don't see how we can take 20 English wickets this summer. And I don't see how our batting will conquer Broad, Anderson and Swann. Eventually each of RD, SRT, VVS and probably Sehwag will get their 100s. Collectively I think they will fail. We haven't valued this tour enough, we haven't cared to prepare enough and we just don't respect Test cricket enough.

England are the team to emulate both on the field and administratively.

England's way will prevail. India's way is for merchants and businessmen and sponsors.Golandaazhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11593900110552569215noreply@blogger.com
